• Who can join ASET?

ASET welcomes anyone who is interested in Astronomy no matter your skill level. Don't have a telescope?  That's alright!  We are happy to have you participate in events however you are able.  Our regular monthly meetings are open to the public, but we often have events and online groups that are specifically for our Members.  Our Special Interest Groups for Astrophotography, Smart Telescopes, and Observing are all member exclusive online meetings.  We also plan special observing events for members to gather together without needing to plan for guests.

• Is there a fee?

ASET collects yearly dues from members to help fund club operations as well as outreach programs and scholarship opportunities for students in the East Texas area.  Dues range from $10 - $28 dollars per year depending on the type of membership.  Check "Membership Types" below to see which best fits your needs.

• When are yearly fees due?

Membership fees are due on January 1st of each year.  If you join before June 31st you will pay the full yearly fee.  If you join after June 31st of a calendar year you are able to join for a 1/2 year prorated fee. 

• Can I pay my dues online?

Yes!  Available payment methods include PayPal, Apple Wallet, and personal credit-card, all with a 3.49% transaction fee added.  We also accept cash and checks if you prefer to by-pass the fee.  Once we are notified of your interest to join, we will forward a Membership Application form to you.  Specific instructions for processing each of these payment methods are included on that form.  After receiving it back from you along with your payment, we will acknowledge your membership, and provide additional information to help you get "plugged-in".  If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to an Officer.

• How can I notify you I am interested in joining?

There are two ways to notify us of your interest to join:  1) Click on "Click Here to Join ASET" (below) to go to NASA's Night Sky Network > ASET Club Page - By filling-out the requested information, we will be notified of your request, and will follow-up with you from there; or, 2) You can also email one of the Officers with your request.
