• Who can join ASET?

ASET welcomes anyone who is interested in Astronomy no matter your skill level. Don't have a telescope? That's alright! We are happy to have you participate in events however you are able. Our regular monthly meetings are open to the public, but we often have events and online groups that are specifically for our Members. Our special Interest Groups for Astrophotography, Smart Scopes, and Observing are all member exclusive online meetings. We also plan special observing events for members to gather together without needing to plan for guests.

• Is there a fee?

ASET collects yearly dues from members to help with club operations as well as funding outreach programs and scholarship oppurtunities for students in the East Texas area. Dues range from $10 - $28 dollars a year depending on the type of membership. Check "Membership Types" below to see what would fit your needs.

• When are yearly fees due?

Per our bylaws, membership fees are due on January 1st of each year. If you join before June 31st you will pay the full yearly fee. If you join after June 31st of a calendar year you are able to join for a prorated fee. 

• Can I pay my dues online?

Yes! We currently take Paypal and after receiving your application we will then request payment through it. Paypal transactions will have a 3.49% transaction fee added. However, we also accept cash and checks if you so prefer. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to an Officer.
